“I hate my job. I need to find something new to do,” Chris complained to his friend.
His friend optimistically responded, “Just wait. Maybe things will get better,” unknowing that his life, along with the lives of everyone else living in China (and arguably the rest of the world) would change drastically in the coming days.
For now, Chris shrugged off his friend’s wise words and went back to his unsatisfying office job, where he logs into his computer every day, goes online to log and measure the company’s data, limited by the websites he can visit online. He continued his mundane lifestyle for another week until August 30, 2030. On August 30, 2030, it felt like the whole world had stopped for a minute.
